Dr Hannah Brothers

I am an Acute Physician with a specialist interest in Respiratory Medicine, having come through the Respiratory training route. I work at the Royal Gwent Hospital (RGH) and Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr (YYF). I began teaching on the Respiratory session of the Newport PACES teaching course in September 2012. Prior to this I developed and ran a pleural procedures course at Glan Clwyd Hospital, Rhyl. I continued this teaching at the University Hospital Llandough. Alongside Dr Ionescu I provide pleural procedure teaching at the RGH and YYF. I have also taught on the palliative care aspect of COPD at the ABUHB GP CPD meetings.

I am mentoring 2 nurse practitioners through their clinical MSc, providing teaching and assessment of their clinical assessment skills, as well as providing teaching to our new Respiratory ANP on pleural procedures and thoracic ultrasound. I also provide teaching to the junior doctors and medical students during their time in the MAU at RGH and YYF.
