Dr Freeman has been a Consultant Physician in stroke medicine at RGH and has been running this course for over 20 years, continually updating the format and content of the course to match the changes to the exam made by the College. She has a long history of experience both at postgraduate and undergraduate level having been a postgraduate and an undergraduate organiser in Newport, an honorary lecturer with Cardiff University, sat on Cardiff University Postgraduate Medical Board and represented Wales on the NACT. She is co-author of the well-regarded trilogy of books An Aid to the MRCP PACES by Ryder, Mir and Freeman. She has been a member of the editorial board of the PMJ and is currently an associate editor of Age and Ageing. In 2012, she was awarded the OBE for services to Stroke Medicine and Medical Education in Wales.
