Welcome to Newport MRCP PACES Course

Venue: The Friars Education Centre and Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport, Gwent.

We hope you will find the following pages useful and that they will help you decide to choose our course – one of the longest-running and leading courses in the UK.

Our course has been running since 1983 and is directed by Dr Anne Freeman OBE FRCP, our Clinical Lead/Consultant Physician and Co-Author of the well-respected trilogy of books – ‘An Aid to the MRCP PACES’. The faculty members are all well-experienced MRCP teachers and several are College examiners.

We are now running a series of modular courses:

  1. Our main 3-day fully comprehensive course covering all stations of the exam. In addition, at this course we will also be offering the opportunity to review CVs, should this be useful, as many candidates will be going straight on to applying for SpR posts once successful at the exam.

Our courses enjoy a high success rate in the actual exam and the feedback we receive is excellent.

  • I would like to let you know that I passed PACES (first attempt) on the 28th February. Thank you very much for the advice, the teaching was second to none. All tutors were very constructive in comments. There was an excellent selection of patients. Furthermore, I am very grateful for the time spent organising the course. I will be recommending this course to all that ask for advice.

  • I would like to thank you as your course really helped me so much to pass my MRCP. I failed last time because of communication skills, this time I got 16/16 and I would not have been able to do it without your course, really thank you very much.
